Kendrick Lamar Unveils Cover Art & Possible Title For Forthcoming Album

Today, Kendrick Lamar posted an image via Instagram that appears to be the cover art for his forthcoming album. The image uploaded captioned, “Don’t all dogs go to heaven? Don’t Gangsta’s boogie? Do owl shit stank? Lions, Tigers & Bears. But TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY. Its the American dream nigga….” – lil Homie.” It is speculated that “TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY” will be the album’s title. TDE’s Top Dawg also tweeted regarding Lamar’s post.

According to iTunes, the currently untitled album is expected to be released on the 23rd of March and will feature 16 tracks. Lamar‘s latest single “The Blacker The Berry” will also be included on the collection.

Earlier in November, the Compton, California rapper said that his forthcoming album could be “even more raw” sonically than his last album release, ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city‘.

“If anything, aside from good kid, it’ll probably feel even more raw,” he said at the time. “Because it’s a little more dirty with the live, dirty drums on it. It’s not something that’s contemporary with the MPC and you pressing different patterns and things like that, but we’ll see how it come out…Everything’s really in-house. Of course Dre, but I really stick with four producers that I’ve been working with since day one. I don’t really go outside the box of that soundwave.”
